Splash,Splash

One thing that Arhan really enjoys is being in water. His bathing time is generally full of fun and frolic, but it is nothing close to what happens when he is in the pool. You should see his excitement, all he wants to do is 'tath' 'tath' (splash splash). Arhan gets so thrilled on seeing water that he says tath tath instantly no matter if it's in the form of rain, windshield cleaner or the fountain. So get ready Olympics, Arhan is here..

Hey I am one !!

What can be said about going home ...sheer joy and excitement beats the long travel and jet lag. Everyone was anxiously waiting for us to reach India after two years so that they can see our little boy. The entire trip was like a big party with Arhan being the guest of honour.

Our first stop was Almora, where Sonu Didi made a beautiful "Noah's Ark" cake (made using sugarcrafts) for Arhan. It was the most beautiful cake we have ever seen.Saahil and Simran did everything they could to be friends with him.It was fun to watch them piggy him around on their backs. Meal times were specially fun, as Nana and Nani had the job of entertaining him while he ate. Everyone was delighted to see him there.

After fasinating everyone in Jaipur and Almora, Arhan headed to Imphal to see his Dada and Dadi. Everyone was overjoyed to play with him, to pamper him and do whateverthey could with him.Being with family is so much fun as for the first time, I actually went shopping without Arhan - courtesy my sister inlaws and Sangeeta Bhabhi. As Arhan had just started to babble, Guddi di, Monu di and Nisha di tried their best to make him say bua. Arhan got really close to Sunil bhaiya, he would hang out with him for hours without any complaints. The kids Khushal, Riddhi, Tillu and Sanidh would make up excuses so that they can spend extra time with him. Sanidh even gave him a nick name calling him "Meri Gobi". We celebrated Arhan's First Birthday with the entire family, it was so much fun to see everyone dressed in yellow to match him. Arhan that day was wearing more gold than Bappi Da..

All in all the trip seemed like a celebration for a month .Miss all of you ...

Look Mommy Teeth !!!

Around mid february, Arhan started teething. It was looking like a tiny white eruption on his lower jaw. Now he has a bunch of them, 7 to be precise, including one which we just noticed today. The little guy wont let us pry into his mouth to have a look at his teeth so pictures are rare.
The teeth look wonderful when he smiles and hurts excruciatingly when he bites.

Holi hai!!

Color our world, We like it bright.. Let's play Holi!!..

What a way to welcome the first spring.. Arhan was in hues of green, red, orange and yellow on his first Holi. Eventhough he did not like them much, it was fun to colour him up.. He had a good time playing holi with friends and family. After the colour sessions got over we went to the temple.

Check out Arhan in his crisp white dhoti kurta with red bandhani dupatta.

Vroom Vroom .. Off I go !!

I have been thinking to write, but there's been something or the other that has been keeping me busy or should I say I am having too much fun with Arhan. So do you want to know what Arhan has been upto? Come along and enjoy my latest experiences with the little tyke.
Sometime early December, Arhan started to sit on his own. Just like everything else it came undeclared and we were absolutely thrilled. Now he could watch Pat and Stanley do their version of Lion Sleeps Tonight and catch up with his other favorite videos on You Tube (TV is so boring). He had even started to act in his own videos!!
Before we could fathom this amazing feat, the little boy had already started to make his moves. Yes, he was on a bigger mission.... to crawl. He had already mastered pick up lines such as aaghoo, angah, aggi etc. and with his sassy crawl, he was the best man on the ramp. For us, it was simply one of the best moment of our life. Arhan was enjoying his new found mobility and the world was on his knees (literally).
If this was not enough, within a week, around New Years the little guy was standing up with the help of some support. The bed, window sill, sofa, dining chairs, cartons - he conqoured them all. It came with a few falls and bumps here and there, but nothing bothered him and he marched undaunted.
Arhan's all over the apartment now, there is no place where he doesn't want to go. He has explored every nook and corner of the house. His favorite hangout spot is by the window sill, where he entertain passerbys and gets entertained watching the wind move the branches of the trees and the cars with their glowing red and orange lights. He spends a lot of time there babbling, rocking and blowing spit bubbles; his eyes do not miss even a single event happening on the street.
He gives me company in the kitchen, making music with the bowls or chasing the sun rays making patterns on the floor. The open diswasher, refrigerator and the store are a treasure for him. Leave them open and he races towards them faster than the speed of light.
Isn't it amazing how fast they grow. Within a few months he will be celebrating his first birthday. Yes India, the little tyke is coming..

Bhurrrrrrrr Bhurrrrrrr!!!

Bhuurrrrr, Bhuuuurrr.. What is that sound and where is it coming from... This was my reaction when I first heard Arhan do it. Now a days he flies the helicopter non stop most of the day.Gone are the days when Arhan used to gently coo, he is now competing with Tansen. If he is not busy bhuuuuring, he's busy with bababa
bababa... (read as mamama or papapa :)). At times he will dazzle us with his babbles, as if it's coming straight out of the hollywood flick The Great Debaters (Denzel, you might wanna remake it).

His reaction to things are becoming very noticeable too, a like generally means a big toothless grin or a hug and a dislike is generally expressed in the form of a loud squeal with a sulking face. They learn so fast don't they.

Perhaps the best times we have with Arhan is when he is on a laughing binge. Its wonderful to see him chuckle with his eyes twinkling, nose crinkled up and mouth wide open. He just needs a cue to start his session and then there is nothing to stop him. Sometimes these can almost take the shape of a riot, even putting Jay Leno to shame..

Guess what is his Favorite passtime. Ofcourse, it has to be music, and it has gone so bad that even we have started to sing nursery rhymes in the bathroom. When, the little guy is cranky all he needs is a smooth nursery rhyme (read as smooth jaaz). His favorite number is "lakdi ki kaathi", he can't stop grinning when we sing that for him. I know, we are going over board with every small thing he is picking up, but can't help it.
Now we just can't wait to hear him utter his first words. Its going to be a while but I guess it'll be worthwhile.
